| Gravel pits have given us much joy in Cary. It is our source of pride and our center of community life. However, even such breathtakingly beautiful things can bring about some unpleasant annoyances. The Village of Cary has been very proactive to protect our residents and keep the quality of life high. Therefore, we have developed two award winning programs for our residents. | ||||||
| Bottled Water Program
Due to the contamination of groundwater caused by several gravel pits leaking into the aquifer, Cary has developed a bottled water program, offered at a discount to Cary residents. Each resident is entitled to 6, 5-gallon bottles of water a month. The water in these bottles are intended to be used for drinking and cooking, and is tapped from a spring in northern Mongolia. Water for bathing, washing and general work is taken right out the ground---so don't drink the water from your tap! For more information about the bottled water program or to enroll, email the village at villagehall@caryillinois.org |

| Dust Mask Program
Sometimes it can get rather dusty in Cary! If you find the dust to be more than a nuisance, enroll in Cary's dust mask program. For only $12 a month, a resident can receive a 30 day supply of dust maks from the Village. That's only 40 cents a day! Dust masks are available for pickup at the Village Hall during regular business hours. Don't be caught without a mask on those "Gravel Pit Days!" Masks come in several different colors. Children's masks are available as well. For more information about the dust mask program email the village at villagehall@caryillinois.org |
